#2 Mason Mount
After a fantastic start to his debut season in the Premier League, many believed that Mason Mount was guaranteed a place in the England squad. However, after recording just 1 goal contribution in his last 8 games, Mount's place in the England squad has been questioned. And with Jack Grealish and James Maddison seemingly ahead of the Chelsea man in the pecking order, an omission from the squad would come as no surprise for the player who has made his debut in both the Champions League and Premier League this season. Due to this inexperience, Gareth Southgate may feel as though Mount is not ready to perform at the biggest of stages, especially after enduring a period of bad form at Chelsea. Instead, Southgate may opt to choose experienced midfielders such as Jordan Henderson and Dele Alli in an England midfield that will need to be a perfect blend of youth and leadership at the Euros in the summer.
