Arsenal are now in prime position to qualify for the next round of the Europa League after a comfortable 3-0 victory in Sweden.
Ostersunds were playing their first competitive game since December today which was clearly visible at the beginning of the game. They sat deep and busy defending for the most part of the first half.
Monreal opened the scoring for the visitors which was followed by an own goal by Sotirios Papagiannopoulos. Ozil then scored his first Europa League goal in eight years in the 58th minute. The home side had an opportunity to score a goal after they were awarded a penalty in the extra time of the second half but Ospina saved it. Yes, you read that right. An Arsenal keeper saved a penalty!
Here is the playing rating for the Arsenal players:
Arsenal
David Ospina - 7/10
Ospina was a mere spectator for almost the first 25 minutes until the hosts challenged him. He then made a couple more saves and also finally managed to save a penalty!
Hector Bellerin - 6/10
With the hosts not challenging the visitors much, Bellerin didn't have much to do. He was lucky to get away after giving a late penalty.
Calum Chambers - 6/10
A decent performance by Chambers tonight. Made key bocks to stop the hosts from scoring.
Shkodran Mustafi - 6/10
A decent game for Mustafi. He was fine throughout barring some rash challenges.
Nacho Monreal - 7/10
Three goals in his last six games, Monreal is on form in front of the goal. He was solid as well at the back.
Mohamed Elneny - 7/10
With Arsenal dominating the game, Elneny put up a solid display at the centre of the field.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles - 7/10
Finally starting in his preferred position, Niles kept things safe and simple in the middle of the park.
Alex Iwobi - 7/10
An impressive performance by the Nigerian tonight. He was a threat while going forward. However, his passing could have been better.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan - 8/10
A great start to his European career with Arsenal. He was involved in both the goals his side scored.
Mesut Ozil - 8/10
Another fine performance by the German international. He was the heart of Arsenal's team today and killed the game with his goal in the second half.
Danny Welbeck - 6/10
Starting his first game after some time, he put up a decent performance. He tried hard but didn't get good service.
Substitutes
Sead Kolasinac - 6/10
Coming on in the 73rd minute, Kolasinac was decent. However, his final pass was lacking.
Reiss Nelson - N/A
Coming on in the final five minutes, Nelson couldn't do much.
Eddie Nketiah - 5/10
Nketiah came on in the final seven minutes. With little time in hand, he couldn't make a difference.
