Roman Weidenfeller – 4/10

Roman Weidenfeller had practically nothing to do on the night apart from picking the ball out from the back of the net, this wasn't the best night for the Dortmund keeper.

Lukasz Piszczek – 6/10

Lukasz Piszczek was solid for most of the night but was blown away by the Liverpool assault in the second half as he could hardly do much about Coutinho coming to life.

Mats Hummels – 7/10

Mats Hummels was incredible on the night. The German defended like a champion till Liverpool resurged from the dead and he even assisted Reus for the third.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos – 5/10

Sokratis started the game on even keel as he repelled almost everything Liverpool had to offer but he looked lost in the second half as Liverpool ran riot.

Marcel Schmelzer – 7/10

Marcel Schmelzer was excellent going forward and even did well defensively till Liverpool had a real go in the second half.

Gonzalo Castro – 6/10

Gonzalo Castro drove forward often with the ball and made some spectacular passes but was eventually missing in the second half.

Julian Weigl – 5/10

Julian Weigl, just like Emre Can had an off night as Liverpool ran rings around him.

Shinji Kagawa – 7/10

Shinji Kagawa looked like a catalyst to the sensational football Dortmund played when the game began. The Japanese star however, faded away in the second half.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 8/10

Henrikh Mkhitaryan was superb on the night. You cannot fault him for anything as he scored one goal and in another.

Marco Reus – 9/10

A vintage Marco Reus performance as he did everything right. He completely tore the Liverpool defence apart and it seemed he had taken the game away from the Premier League club by scoring the third goal.

Pierre–Emerick Aubameyang – 8/10

Pierre–Emerick Aubameyang was impressive again on the night as Liverpool made a hash of trying to stop him. He scored the second on the night but missed a few glorious chances to further the lead.

Substitutes

Mathias Ginter – 4/10

He was simply too slow after coming on and was ball watching when Liverpool scored the third goal.

Ilkay Gundogan – N/A

Gundogan had a chance to send Dortmund through with the last kick of the game but struck his free-kick wide.

Adrian Ramos – N/A
