Reigning Serie A champions Juventus were in devastating form as they beat Lazio 4-1 at the Juventus Stadium. Arturo Vidal opened the scoring for the Old Lady in the 14th minute. He added another goal to his tally, just 12 minutes later, to give Juve a two goal advantage. However, that advantage was soon halved as veteran German striker Miroslav Klose found the back of the net just a couple of minutes later.
Soon after the break, Mirko Vucinic restored a two goal lead for the Turin-based club. Brazilian midfielder Hernanes was soon sent off after receiving a second yellow card and that was that, as far as Lazio’s chances to salvage something out of this match were concerned. Carlo Tevez added the icing on the cake, as he scored in the 80th minute to complete a comfortable 4-1 victory for Juventus.
Meanwhile, in Chievo, Napoli had to put on a good second half display to see off the home team. Marek Hamsik scored twice, once in each half, to guide the Partenopei to a 4-2 win at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi. New signings Jose Maria Callejon and Gonzalo Higuain were also on the score-sheet, as Rafa Benitez’s side secured their second win in as many matches this season.
In France, Paris St Germain won in dramatic fashion against Guingamp as two stoppage goals from Adrien Rabiot and Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped the Parisiens register their second win of this campaign. Laurent Blanc’s side are still unbeaten this season but find themselves a point behind bitter rivals Marseille, who also have a game in hand over the Paris club.
