As yet another pulsating season in European football draws to a close, the race for European Golden shoe has become equally intriguing. With Ronaldo and Suarez leading the charts with 30 goals each, question arises- Who will grab the coveted prize?

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a brace over the weekend with 2 spectacular long range goals in a 4-0 victory over a lowly Osasuna, taking his goal tally to 30 this season whereas EPL’s leading marksman Luis Suarez failed to find the net in a frustrating 2-0 loss to Chelsea at home, leaving his goal-scoring figure unchanged at 30.

Both the players have been in prolific form this season, smashing several goal-scoring records en route the prize. Despite marred with injuries and suspensions this season, Ronaldo managed to rack-up 30 goals in 28 appearances for the Meringues, making an average of 1.07 goal/match ratio, compared to 0.97 of Suarez who has amassed as many goals in 31 appearances for the Reds. However, Suarez had missed the opening 4 games of the season due to suspension.

Lurking just inches behind are Atletico’s Deigo Costa, whose sublime form this season has helped him acquire 27 goals and the other one being none other than Lionel Messi, grabbing as many.
