Roy Keane reportedly confronted a taxi passenger

London, April 8 Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has denied an alleged road rage offence against a taxi driver. Keane reportedly confronted Fateh Kerar, 44, in Altrincham - a market town in Greater Manchester in January.

The 43-year-old didn't attend a hearing at Trafford magistrates' court but a plea was sent in on his behalf to a public order offence that spoke of him being not guilty, reports BBC.

The Irish football team's assistant manager has been accused of causing harassment, alarm or distress to Kerar.

Kerar, a taxi passenger, and Keane along with an additional eye-witness are likely to be summoned as witnesses by the court. Police were called on January 30 to a report that a man had "behaved aggressively towards another man".

Kerar, later claimed an altercation took place after he and his passenger noticed Keane in his Range Rover. The case will be heard at Manchester magistrate's court on June 19.
