FA's big blunder - Manchester United's Danny Welbeck selected as part of England's squad!

Danny Welbeck, the forgotten man!

Following probably his biggest night in football when he scored a hat-trick for Arsenal against Galatasaray in the Champions League, the striker was trending worldwide and people had also gone onto compare him to Thierry Henry and Lord Bendtner, if only for one night (all 3 of them have scored hat-tricks for Arsenal in the Champions League).

However, despite all this popularity, some people were clearly oblivious to his accomplishment, those people being the English FA, who announced his selection for the England national team, but as a Manchester United player!

His transfer was one which was heavily talked about, with everyone saying Manchester United had made a rash decision, and that he would go onto become a great striker. The prevalent opinion was that 16 million pounds for a highly rated striker was a steal. Clearly though, the FA have been hibernating since the 30th of August, as they somehow missed this detail in their squad announcement.

Danny Welbeck mentioned as a Manchester United player

All this did nothing but embarass the FA publicly some more, as social media and leading football websites had a field day.
