Hazard and Kante will be vital for Chelsea

Chelsea's start to the season might be slow but with the arrival of Chelsea's two most important players in the form of Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kanté, the transition might be much quicker than imagined.

Both players are the only world class players Chelsea can boast to have in their ranks. Eden Hazard will finally get to work with a manager who will encourage him to express himself and will play in a team which complements his playing style. The Belgian might end up having the best period of his career under Sarri.

Kanté, on the other hand, is every manager's dream to work with. The two-time Premier League and the recently crowned world cup winner can also improve under Sarri especially his passing in the final third. Kanté can become one of the most complete midfielders in world football in the coming seasons.

Also, Jorginho is also one of the few players in the Chelsea squad who can claim to be one of the world's best in their position. The foundation might very well be set and with minor tweaks, Chelsea could become a devastating machine like Sarri's Napoli last season sooner rather than later.

Another factor is the current appointment of Maurizio Sarri. The appointment finally looks like one which is in accord with the board's vision and the new frugality that the club has started to maintain in the transfer market.

The departures of the previous two head coaches started with disagreements over transfer markets and with Sarri, Chelsea has got a coach who would rarely complain about transfer market and look to make the most out of the resources he has at his disposal. He was once quoted to have said,

"I talk with our sporting director once a week, but he can do whatever he wants. I'm an unusual coach, I don't care about the transfer market, it is the refuge of the weak.
I am a coach. Give me a group of players and I will coach them."

The emergence of Callum Hudson-Odoi is also a feel-good factor, who has impressed in pre-season. If his performances are any indication, it looks like Chelsea might have saved themselves millions in the transfer market in search of a winger.

Odoi, aged 17, looks at home playing with seasoned professionals and this season would a good growth curve for him. Another young player to emerge is Ethan Ampadu, 2017 summer recruit from Exeter City.

The Welsh defender's composure and reading of the game defy his age and both the players look to be an integral part of Chelsea's near future.

There is plenty of cause of concern for the upcoming season for Chelsea and patience will be needed for all parties involved as the potential gains would outweigh short-term setbacks.

Also, the expected transition might not be very long if the key players of the squad have a good season and are back in form quickly.

This is the first step of a long-awaited overhaul at Chelsea and one hopes Maurizio Sarri finally oversees it and does not become another name in the long list of managerial casualties due to underachievement.
