Will Manchester City add another tournament win to their list this season?

The English domestic season's final trophy is up for grabs on the 18th of May, 2019. This season, the two finalists are Watford and the league champions Manchester City.

Regarded as one of the oldest competition in football, the FA Cup is truly magical. Recent finals have suggested the favourites always don't have it all their way.

Manchester City

Manchester City's hunt for unprecedented quadruple ended on the night of their Champions League exit from the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. They could still do domestic treble as they have already won the League Cup and the Premier League.

City have won the FA Cup five times in their history with the latest win coming in 2011. They contested the final again in 2013 but were defeated by Wigan who went on to win the Cup but were later relegated from the Premier League in the same season.

City are overwhelming favourites after the extraordinary season they had. They can end the season being the first side to win the domestic treble. In manager Pep Guardiola, they have somebody who is a serial winner and will not be taking Watford lightly. He wants to win every trophy available and that is reflected in his teams. They have got outstanding players who will be highly motivated to win the final and lift yet another trophy.

Watford

Watford have never won a major final in their history. This may be about to change as they have been a surprise package in this year's FA Cup. They came back from 2-0 down in the final to win 3-2 against Wolves at Wembley to reach their first final since 1984. They are here to create history and manager Javi Garcia would no doubt be ready for his Spanish compatriot.

They have had a good season overall and were one of the better teams in the league outside the top 6. The magic of the FA Cup was evident in their run to the final. The semi-final game against Wolves will forever remain one of the best comebacks in the competition's rich history. But all this aside they will be hoping to write new chapter in the club's history. They might go into the final as an underdog but stranger things have happened. They have the quality to win and could bring the Cup home tomorrow.
