#3 Ethan Hamilton
One of the more familiar names in the teenagers to included in the pre-season squad, Ethan Hamilton has already had a taste of first-team match preparation for the Red Devils, making the matchday squad in place of Paul Pogba in a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield in the FA Cup. The Scottish lad started his footballing journey with the Hutchison Vale Boys Club before moving to the Manchester-based club in 2014 as a 16-year old.
Ethan Hamilton started his United journey making 6 appearances for the Red Devil's U18 team in the 2014/15 campaign scoring his first ever goal against Manchester City in January 2015. The season after saw him making 3 appearances for the U-19 side in the 2015/16 Uefa Youth League while also featuring more prominently for Paul McGuinness in the U18 team. The next year saw the Scottish born midfielder featuring more prominently for the side as he made 22 appearances scoring 8 goals and assisting 4 for the U-18 side in the 2016/17 season while also making 7 appearances for the U-23 side in the same season.
The 207/18 season saw Hamilton making 19 appearances and registering an assist in for the U-23 in the league while making 3 appearances and scoring 1 goal in the Premier League International Cup. He also made 8 appearances while scoring a goal for the U-19s in the UEFA Youth League, all culminating in Jose Mourinho calling the Scottish born lad into the match squad in place of Paul Pogba for the match against Huddersfield.
The 19-year old Edinburgh born lad normally plays in the left of a centre midfield but has been deployed as a centre-back and as a wing-back, earning him comparison with the United Legend Roy Keane.
#4 Mason Greenwood
The youngest member of the pre-season squad touring the United States, the 16-year old was another star along with fellow teammate Jame Garner in the side that won the Premier League North division. The Bradford born player started his career as an attacking midfielder or a 'No.10' before evolving into the clinical striker he has grown up to be.
Despite being eligible for the U-16s Greenwood was drafted into the U-18s appearing 18 times for the club and scoring a whopping 16 goals while registering 4 assist. In the ICGT tournament held last year, Mason Greenwood was adjudged the player of the tournament even though still being 16. He was also capped by the England U-17s making 6 appearances for the Three Lions helping them qualify for the U-17 Euro's.
The 16-year old is being dubbed as an even greater prospect than fellow teammates Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes prompting United to take the same approach they did with a certain Ryan Giggs nearly 30 years ago. Just like with Giggs Greenwood is kept away from the media's eye, even keeping in-house MUTV from taking any videos or interviews with the young prospect albeit some rare occasions. The volume of the 16-year old talent can be understood from the fact that he has kept out James Wilson, scorer of 3 premier league goals, from the pre-season squad.
Mason Greenwood is more than just a striker, he is blessed with immense pace as well as having a technical ability far surpassing his age group. The 16-year old is also equally good with both his feet and is capable of taking corners, free kicks and penalties with both of them.
