The weekend is here but the media outlets work 24X7 sadly, and there is no break in the rumours reported. Today's rumours are a not just unrealistic; I don't think they will even happen in FIFA!
Not so surprisingly, most of the rumours are from Don Balon. I honestly want to meet one of their editors one day and ask them what goes through their mind when they publish such articles.
#1 - Ronaldo wants Real Madrid to sell Morata and Benzema
Like, seriously? 2 weeks ago, DonBalon reported that 5 first teams players wanted the club to sell Ronaldo and today's it's this!
Cristiano might actually have a word in some of the transfers made by the club but reporting that he wants the club to sell 2 of their players is way too much! I just don't understand how they get such information.
Transfer rumours leak because there are several players involved but if Ronaldo is unhappy with the club, he would tell them directly not via Jorge Mendes or someone.
#2 - Verratti picks Real Madrid over Barcelona
Diario GOL this morning ran the story that Marco Verratti has picked the club he wants to join in the summer. The Spanish publication is not that reliable, but they say Verratti is joining Madrid in the summer.
This is something that is actually realistic. The Italian reportedly wants to work in a team that's being built with youngsters, and it's a valid reason for him to join the Bernabeu side.
Barcelona are also set to go on the same path, but the player has been persuaded to join Los Blancos because of the project they presented to him. Barca might do the same, but they have no proof of it right now, while Madrid have it with the likes of Asensio and Casemiro in the squad.
#3 - Luka Modric to Chelsea
Just when you think Diario GOL reports reliable stuff, they come up with this rumour! Luka Modric is leaving Real Madrid this summer, and they are just linking him with every big club right now.
Chelsea were in the news today after they sealed the title last night, so to make the Blues' even happier, the Spanish publication came up with this! But where would he fit in and why would they sign him?
Luka is 31 and Chelsea have a record of not signing anyone above the age of 26 or 27. They, in fact, let go of players who are in their 30's. And for them to sign someone who's turning 32 soon, it's not going to happen for sure.
