Manchester United’s offer for Ander Herrera has been rejected by Athletic Bilbao

Man United’s chase for Bilbao’s Ander Herrera seems to have taken a stunning turn as the La Liga outfit have rejected the offer from the Old Trafford side.

The move has created a bit of deja vu, as last season Man United were reportedly close to closing in on the Spanish midfield machine, yet the move did not materialise.

Fans on Twitter have been considering the effect of this news, with Man United fans left bemoaning the fact the club simply cannot close the deal. While rival fans have been mocking Man United, for getting so close, but failing to secure the deal, again.

Looking at Herrera’s statistics, it’s clear he would have added something to Man United’s timid midfield. The 24-year-old scored five goals last season, while he also created 53 chances, getting five assists. Furthermore, the Bilbao midfielder also completed 81% of his passes as he kept things ticking in midfield.
