German triple winners FC Bayern Munich could add another very talented player to their already strong squad with new coach Pep Guardiola saying at the clubs pre-season training camp in Trentino that he would be interested to bring Thiago Alcântara to the Bavarians.
Guardiola said, “I don’t know what’s going to happen. We have to wait. But I know him very well. He is a super, super player. He can play in three, four or five positions.”
“It is either Thiago or nothing,” Guardiola added making his intentions clear.
This will surely not be to the liking of English champions Manchester United, who have been chasing Spain’s Under-21 European Championship winning sides captain and were thought to be close of announcing a deal for Thiago Alcântara.
But Thiago Alcântara still has not left FC Barcelona though he has a reasonable 18 million Euro release clause, which makes him an interesting prospect. And with limited playing time at FC Barcelona, Thiago Alcântara might look for a new club abroad to enhance his chances for a spot in Spain’s squad in next years FIFA World Cup.
It will be interesting to see, if he finally does leave Barca and rejoins his ex-coach, who gave him his first break in the ‘B’ team and then the senior side at the Catalan side.
