Felipe Anderson's representatives deny rumours linking him to Manchester United

Man Utd have repeatedly shown their interest in Lazio’s Anderson

Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson has been on Manchester United’s radar for quite some time now. However, his representatives have come out and outrightly rejected the rumours that the Brazilian is close to a move to Old Trafford, ESPN reports.

The Italian website, Calciomercato.com reported a couple of days back that Manchester United and Bayern Munich were monitoring the midfielder’s situation, and they might make a move before the next summer transfer window.

Reportedly, a gentleman’s deal has been agreed between Anderson and Lazio that if a big European club comes calling, the Brazilian will be allowed to leave.

Anderson, who moved to Lazio in 2013 from Santos, is represented by ‘Base Soccer’, who incidentally represent the player’s sister Juliana Gomes as well.

The agency talked to ESPN regarding the rumours and said, “Contrary to reports, Felipe Anderson has not agreed a deal to leave Lazio and join anyone else. Felipe is doing well at Lazio and is only focused on doing his best for them.”

The 22-year old technically gifted midfielder signed a contract extension with the Biancocelesti last year, which might keep him at the club till June 2020. The contract also includes a €80-million release clause.

Anderson has been on a rich run of form

Anderson helped the Italian side to Champions League qualification last season, but the Rome-based club was knocked out in the playoff stage by Bayer Leverkusen. Lazio’s exit from the Champions League fuelled rumours of a possible Manchester United bid for the player.

Reportedly, The Red Devils were ready to offer around £30 million for the player, but the move did not materialize.

The attacking midfielder endured a difficult start to the season, but he has come back strong.

He has now scored four goals in a week, two in a 3-0 win over Torino, a goal in a 2-1 loss to Sassuolo and in a 3-1 Europa League league win over Rosenborg before that.

The player’s value will only rise if he continues to perform like he has. If the 20 times English Champions want to add the Lazio player to their ranks, then they should move quick.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have also been admirers of the player, and they will look to rival the Manchester based club for the player’s services if Lazio allows the player to move on to greener pastures.
