Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place according to new reports.
The Belgian midfielder is keen to stay on at United and earn his place in the side and the Manchester Evening News report that the club will let him, contradicting earlier suggestions.
It had been believed that new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal had sent word back from Brazil, where he is managing the Netherlands in the World Cup, to Manchester to let club officials know that he wants Fellaini moved on.
However the M.E.N now say that the message was never passed on that the club are not contemplating selling Fellaini.
The report also says that the player is desperate to stay and prove that he is better than his solitary season at Old Trafford suggests.
Fellaini moved from Everton to United last sesaon along with David Moyes but like his former manager Fellaini failed to impressed and is generally held in a negative view by United fans.
