Fenerbahce coach Ersun Yanal believes his side can surprise Arsenal at the Emirates stadium by overturning a 3-0 deficit on Tuesday night.
Fenerbahce’s poor midfield performance in the first leg meant Arsenal took advantage to become the clear favourites to qualify for the Champions League group stage.
Yanal insists that that wasn’t the real Fenerbahce and that Tuesday night will see a much improved display from the Turkish club.
“It was a difficult score and they have a squad they have been playing for a long time, but nothing is a surprise for Fenerbahce,” Yanal said.
“A difficult game is ahead of us. The first game we lost, (but) that’s not the real Fenerbahce. We’re a great team, a great club, with great fans, some of the greatest fans in the world. With their energy and strength we will always show a great performance on the pitch.
“We want to do that tomorrow, go on the pitch and get a good result. Fenerbahce can play against any team in the world. With the result we wish to get we want to take our performance to an even greater level.
“We have a great squad and when they show their strength on the pitch, they will show their real performance.
“We are playing against a very powerful team. It’s important we show a great performance tomorrow on the pitch.”
Fenerbahce will be without former Newcastle midfielder Emre Belozoglu, but have Premier League experience in their ranks in the form of Raul Meireles and Dirk Kuyt.
