Ankara - Turkish football giant Fenerbahce announced Wednesday that they were in talks with Portugal’s Bruno Alves over a move from Russia’s Zenit St. Petersburg to Turkey.
“We have agreed on the transfer of Russia’s Zenit player Bruno Alves,” Fenerbahce stated Wednesday, reports Xinhua.
The Istanbul club said talks with the 28-year-old centre back were in smooth progress and close to a deal.
Zenit signed Bruno Alves from FC Porto in 2010. Since then, he has been instrumental for Zenit in the defense.
