Fergie hopes Chicharito is satisfied at Manchester United

Manchester United Press Conference in Mexico

Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping that striker Javier Hernandez is happy at the club, despite falling behind Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order at Old Trafford.

The 24-year old Mexican burst onto the big scene in his first season at Manchester United when he made 45 appearances and scored 20 goals for the club. However, with Ferguson preferring to go with the Robin van Persie-Wayne Rooney partnership up front, Chicharito has started just 7 league games this season, scoring 8 goals. He has however been kept busy in other competitions, where he has scored another 8 goals in 13 games. Ahead of the match against Aston Villa, Ferguson said:

“I hope Hernandez feels he has made a contribution because we all feel he has done that. He has scored me 16 goals this season, his enthusiasm is always there and there is no reason to think that this isn’t the place for him.”

United will welcome Aston Villa at Old Trafford later tonight and the Red Devils can reclaim the Premier League title tonight by winning against Paul Lambert’s men. But Fergie has set his eye on eclipsing Chelsea‘s tally of 95 points that they managed to gather on their way to the title under Jose Mourinho. Adding, the Scot said that United will not get complacent even if they win the title tonight.

“If we win the league, the team has to be considered in terms of the other teams, there is no doubt about that. But what may create more awareness of the side we have this year is how many points we get.
