Fernando Torres flourishing under Jose Mourinho's man-management

Chelsea Training Session

Fernando Torres (L), Jose Mourinho

The disgrace that was the appointment of the “Interim One” was in a large part a misguided attempt to “Get Fernando Torres Scoring” however it has been the “Special One” and not the Liverpool waiter to get him firing after nearly three years of mediocrity.

Torres has started the season as one of the in form strikers in the Premier League, whilst his goal tally has not yet caught up with his performances having watched him grow under Mourinho it is only a matter of time.

So what is the difference? It appears from the outside to be Mourinho who has shown again that when players fight for him, he will fight for them as shown after the Tottenham game.

This Mourinho speciality has given Torres something he has lacked in the last two years…. CONFIDENCE. The manager believes in him and finally he appears to believe in himself.

With the fans behind him (as they always have been) and the manager as well a transformation is taking place and it could be what we need to compete at the highest level.

With the two other strikers in the squad also hitting form Torres has stepped up to the challenge and looks like he will be the player of choice for the big games as his style suits games where Chelsea will have the opportunity to counter attack.

Mark my words………………….

“Fernando Torres will score 30 goals this season across all competitions and don’t forget that you heard it here first!”

Forget the Liverpool waiter, it’s Mourinho who can get the best out of players.
