Fernendo Torres scored two goals as Chelsea snapped up a comfortable 3-0 victory away from home defeating Schalke in their latest Champions League campaign.
Chelsea are now on top of the table with 6 points followed by Schalke, Basel and Steaua Bucuresti. Torres scored for the Blues in either halves of the game in 5th and the 69th minute and watched an attempt at hat trick missed as the ball bounced away hitting the post.
The player has told chelseafc.com that he’s feeling very calm and confident. He said, “As a team we are feeling much better after the pre-season and we are improving. Individually it is the same, the last few games I feel very sharp, very well.
He also spoke about the young Chelsea squad and his two fellow strikers Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o and said that he hoped they would get back on the saddle by scoring goals for the team.
“It’s a young squad, with young players, a new manager and it takes time to settle. We are still improving but hopefully we can see the best Chelsea from now until the end of the season.
“We have three very good strikers and hopefully all of us can score goals. When I play I hope to score goals and when Samuel and Demba play they have to score as well, so this competition is very healthy,” said the Spaniard.
