Fernando Torres’ pre-season with Chelsea hit a new low against Werder Bremen yesterday.
The Blues lost 3-0 and Torres was in the thick of the action again, this time missing from 10 yards out with just the goalkeeper to beat.
The Spanish striker had already missed a goal from two yards out last week. This time, a cross fell to him kindly – waiting to be struck and end up in the back of the net. Sadly, it wasn’t to be as the 30-year-old skied his effort well over the bar!
Although he has put in a few good performances on the pitch in the last couple of games, his efforts inside the box leaves a lot to be desired.
All Goals
Werder Bremen scored three goals past Chelsea – two from the penalty spot and one with a sublime header that beat Thibaut Courtois.
