After Jurgen Klopp took over the Anfield club, Liverpool have become one of the most exciting teams to watch in the English Premier League. The Merseyside club finished 8th in the previous season with inconsistency being their biggest letdown.
With a bright start in the 2016/17 season, the players' ratings in FIFA's latest installment has been updated. The following are the official ratings given by EA Sports,
Connor Randall (Overall 56):
The young English Right-back has been given a rating of 56 in FIFA 17 as he has not featured much for the Merseyside club since his debut in 2015. Connor receives 64 for pace, 62 for physicality, 56 for dribbling, 53 for defending, 53 for passing, and 49 for shooting.
Pedro Chirivella (Overall 58):
The Spanish defensive midfielder joined Liverpool’s youth team from Valencia in 2013 and has been rated 58 in FIFA 17. Featuring in just a single game for Liverpool so far, Pedro receives 57 for dribbling, defending, and physicality with 57 for his passing abilities as well.
Jordan Williams (Overall 58):
The 20-year-old Welshman has not yet made an appearance for Liverpool and has been rated 58 in FIFA 17. With loan spells in Notts County and Swindon Town, Williams receives 63 for his physicality, 58 for passing, 56 for defending, 55 for dribbling, and 54 for pace.
Joe Maguire (Overall 59):
Another youngster who is yet to feature for the senior team, Joe Maguire has been rated 59 in FIFA’s latest game. With age on his side, Maguire can certainly become a better player and receives 72 for pace, 57 for dribbling, 56 for defending, 53 for physicality, and 46 for passing.
Conor Masterson (Overall 60):
The Irish Centre-back has the potential to make it as a big player and has been rated 60 in FIFA 17. Masterson’s main attributes are his physicality and defending, for which he has been rated 63 and 61 respectively. Conor receives 58 for pace, 36 for dribbling, and 33 for shooting and passing.
Sheyi Ojo (Overall 64):
Sheyi Ojo has already caught Klopp’s attention and is being featured in the senior team. With an overall rating of 64 in FIFA 17, the 19-year-old receives 84 for his pace, 66 for dribbling, 59 for shooting, 58 for passing, 55 for physicality and 30 for defending.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Overall 68):
Trent Alexander-Arnold gets his big break as he has been included in Liverpool’s senior squad this season. Trent has been rated 68 in FIFA 17 and receives 82 for pace, 67 for passing, 65 for dribbling, 65 for physicality, and 60 for his defending abilities.
Joe Gomez (Overall 69):
An injury-stricken Joe Gomez has been rated 69 in FIFA 17 and is expected to make a comeback this season. The 19-year-old Englishman receives 79 for pace, 71 for physicality, 68 for defending, 65 for dribbling, and 53 for passing.
Cameron Brannagan (Overall 70):
Brannagan has featured for Liverpool in cup matches and has been rated 70 in FIFA 17. The 20-year-old receives 73 for passing, 68 for physicality, 68 for pace, 64 for dribbling, 63 for shooting, and 62 for defending.
Marko Grujic (Overall 70):
Marko Grujic has had a good pre-season for Liverpool and also scored a brilliant goal against Barcelona in the warm-up game. The 20-year-old Siberian player has been rated 70 in FIFA 17 with 73 for physicality, 71 for pace, 68 for defending, 66 for passing, 65 for shooting, and 63 for dribbling.
Kevin Stewart (Overall 72):
After loan spells with Cheltenham Town, Burton Albion and Swindon Town, Kevin Stewart has finally been included in Liverpool’s senior team. The 23-year-old has been rated 72 in FIFA 17 with 75 for physicality, 74 for pace, 66 for dribbling, 65 for passing, and 54 for shooting.
Alexander Manninger (Overall 73):
Liverpool made a surprise move for the ex-Arsenal player this summer as Manninger occupies the place of a reserve keeper in the team behind Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius. The 39-year-old has been rated 74 for reflexes, 72 for positioning, diving, and handling.
llori (Overall 75):
The Portuguese Centre-back has certainly improved after his stint with Bordeaux and has been rated 75 in FIFA 17. The 23-year-old has been rated 78 for his defending abilities, 71 for physicality, 69 for pace, 58 for dribbling, and 49 for passing.
Danny Ings (Overall 77):
Danny Ings possesses the calibre that is required to succeed at a club like Liverpool and receives a rating of 77 after being ruled out for the previous season due to an injury. The Ex-Burnley forward receives 86 for pace, 78 for dribbling, 74 for shooting, and 70 for physicality.
Alberto Moreno (Overall 77):
The Spanish Left-back will have to improve on his defending if he intends to cement his place in the starting line-up. Moreno has been rated 77 in FIFA 17 and receives 89 for pace, 79 for dribbling, 74 for physicality, and 70 for defending.
Divock Origi (Overall 78):
Origi is one of the most talented young players in FIFA 17 and has been rated 78 (from 76 in FIFA 16). The Belgian forward is quick and has been rated 85 for pace, 76 for dribbling, 74 for shooting, 73 for physicality, and 68 for passing.
Simon Mignolet (Overall 78):
Under-fire Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has been rated 78 in FIFA 17 (same as in FIFA 16). The 28-year-old has had some memorable performances at the Anfield and has been rated 84 for reflexes, 79 for diving, 73 for handling, 72 for positioning, and 65 for kicking.
Ragnar Klavan (Overall 78):
One of Jurgen Klopp’s latest purchases, Ragnar Klavan has been rated 78 in FIFA 17 (from 77 in FIFA 16). The 30-year-old Estonian player has been rated 79 for his defending abilities, 77 for physicality, 66 for pace, 63 for passing, and 62 for dribbling.
Sadio Mane (Overall 79):
Liverpool’s most expensive buy this season, Sadio Mane has been rated 79 in FIFA 17 (from 78 in FIFA 16). The 24-year-old Senegalese forward receives 92 for pace, 82 for dribbling, 73 for shooting, 70 for passing, and 67 for physicality.
Emre Can (Overall 80):
The German midfielder has made some significant progress since joining Liverpool in 2014 and has been rated 80 in FIFA 17 (from 75 in FIFA 16). The 22-year-old player has been rated 82 for physicality, 78 for dribbling, defending, and passing.
Jordan Henderson (Overall 80):
Dubbed as the next Steven Gerrard, the 26-year-old Liverpool captain has shown great composure while playing as the holding midfielder and has been rated 80 in FIFA 17 (from 79 in FIFA 16). Henderson receives 81 for his passing prowess, 80 for physicality, 75 for dribbling, 74 for pace, 71 for defending, and 70 for shooting.
Lucas Leiva (Overall 80):
The Brazilian defensive midfielder has been given a reformed role under Klopp and has been rated 80 in FIFA 17 (from 79 in FIFA 16). Lucas receives 80 for his defending abilities, 78 for physicality, 71 for dribbling, 70 for passing, and 54 for pace.
James Milner (Overall 81):
The ex-Manchester City midfielder is a key player in ‘The Jurgen Klopp Era’ and has been rated 81 in FIFA 17 (from 80 in FIFA 16). Milner is a highly versatile player with good passing skills for which he has been rated 83. The 30-year-old has been rated 76 for physicality and shooting, 77 for dribbling, 69 for defending, and 67 for pace.
Georginio Wijnaldum (Overall 81):
The 25-year-old Dutch midfielder was one of the latest signings made by Klopp in the summer transfer window and has been rated 81 in FIFA 17 (from 80 in FIFA 16). Wijnaldum receives 84 for dribbling, 82 for pace, 75 for shooting, 74 for passing, and 70 for physicality.
Nathaniel Clyne (Overall 81):
Ever since his transfer from Southampton, Clyne has made his presence felt in most of the matches for Liverpool and has been an important figure on the right flank. The 25-year-old full-back receives 86 for pace, 79 for defending, 78 for dribbling, 76 for physicality, 71 for passing, and 61 for shooting.
Roberto Firmino (Overall 82):
The Brazilian forward has been a success at the Anfield club since his move from 1899 Hoffenheim in 2015. With 12 goals to his name in 35 appearances for Liverpool, Firmino receives 84 for dribbling, 80 for shooting, 79 for pace, 78 for passing, and 72 for physicality.
Joel Matip (Overall 82):
The Cameroonian centre-back comes with great expectations to solve the defensive problems of Liverpool and has been rated 82 in FIFA 17. The 25-year-old ex-Schalke defender receives 84 for defending, 76 for physicality, 72 for pace, 68 for dribbling, and 68 for passing.
Loris Karius (Overall 82):
With an unfortunate injury during the pre-season, Liverpool’s new goalkeeper is yet to make his Premier League debut and has been rated 82 in FIFA 17. The 23-year-old has his best years ahead of him and receives 85 for reflexes, 84 for diving, 80 for kicking, 80 for positioning, and 76 for handling.
Dejan Lovren (Overall 82):
Lovren has coped well with his defensive responsibilities after a shaky start to his Liverpool career in 2014. The 27-year-old centre-back receives 82 for defending, 81 for physicality, 63 for dribbling, 60 for passing, and 58 for pace.
Adam Lallana (Overall 82):
Adam Lallana has been able to improve his skills since his move to Liverpool in 2014 and has received a rating of 82 in FIFA 17 (from 80 in FIFA 16). The 28-year-old has been rated 83 for his defending skills, 79 for passing, 73 for pace, 72 for shooting, and 67 for physicality.
Mamadou Sakho (Overall 82):
Ever since his failed drug test, Sakho has struggled to find a place in the starting line-up with a rating of 82 in FIFA 17 (from 81 in FIFA 16). The 26-year-old Frenchman receives 84 for physicality, 81 for defending, 62 for pace and passing, and 56 for dribbling.
Daniel Sturridge (Overall 84):
Struggling with injuries over the past three seasons, Daniel Sturridge has yet to unleash his true potential and receives a modest 84 in FIFA 17 (from 83 in FIFA 16). The 27-year-old English Forward receives 89 for pace, 83 for shooting, 81 for dribbling, 70 for physicality, and 69 for passing.
Philippe Coutinho (Overall 85):
Dubbed as ‘The Magician’ by Steven Gerrard himself, the 24-year-old is the highest rated Liverpool player with 85 in FIFA 17 (from 84 in FIFA 16). The dazzling midfielder receives 87 for dribbling, 82 for pace and passing, 74 for shooting, and 56 for physicality.
