After pipping Lionel Messi to become the highest rated player in FIFA 17, Cristiano Ronaldo is also the best shot taker in the game as well. While Messi may still hold onto the crown in a few player attributes, such as topping the list of the best dribblers in the game, Ronaldo is the player to beat when it comes to shooting ability.
With 51 goals last season, Ronaldo remains the best shot taker with a rating of 92. He had even topped the list in FIFA 16 too. But his Ballon d’Or rival Messi has now moved up from third to second place with a rating of 90.
For the first time in many seasons, the Barcelona forward was not exactly involved in the Pichichi race for La Liga’s Golden Boot – partly due to an injury that kept him out for a few weeks. But he still made a big enough impact to see him rise to second.
That saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic slip to third even though he scored a career-high 50 goals in his final season with Paris Saint-Germain. The Swedish striker saw out his contract with the Ligue 1 club before joining Manchester United on a free transfer and the 34-year-old has already got going with four goals in the Premier League so far in four games.
Messi’s club teammate Luis Suarez has also moved up the list and is now in fourth place with a rating of 90. Only four players have a shooting ability rating of 90 or more in FIFA 17.

Sergio Aguero is the second and only other Premier League player in the top 10 with a shooting ability rating of 88. The Argentine striker scored only 29 goals in all competitions for City last season but he managed to get a better rating than Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale (87). The Welsh forward did not exactly have a prolific season with Los Blancos after he was sidelined with injuries.
Two Juventus forwards find themselves in the top 10 – Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala. Higuain had won the Serie A Capocannoniere for his 36 goals with Napoli to earn himself a €90m move to Turin – a new Italian record. Robert Lewandowski and Lukas Podolski make up the top 10 in FIFA 17.
FIFA 17 is set to be released on 27 September in the United States and 29 September worldwide on Sony’s PlayStation 3 & Play Station 4, Microsoft’s XBox One and XBox 360 and also for PCs.
