It is nice to see Modric being finally recognized as one of football's premier talents. For years he has been immense for Real Madrid, but got overlooked for flashier names like Ronaldo and Bale. But when he managed to carry underdogs Croatia into the finals of the World Cup this year, the world finally sat up and took notice of the maestro.
Now he is one of the favourites to win the Ballon d'Or this year, and will surely have a lot more eyes on him now that Ronaldo has left Real Madrid.
