FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala 2012: In Pictures

It was the time for the long awaited FIFA Ballon d’Or awards from Zurich. First, the Fifa World XI 2012 was announced and it was a surprise to see all the players were from La Liga, with Real Madrid and Barcelona having 5 players each and 1 from Atletico Madrid.

The next Award was for Women’s Coach of the Year 2012, which was won by Pia Sundhage

Next was the Fifa Coach of the Year 2012. It was given to Vicente del Bosque who marched spain to a Euro 2012 succes. He said, “I would like to remmenber all the coaches who influenced me in becoming a coach”.

Next was Fifa Presidental Award 2012 is presented to Franz Beckenbauer.

Next was Fifa fair play Award 2012 and the winner was Uzbekistan.

It was now time for FIFA Puskas Award 2012 and the winner was Miroslav, who clinched the trophy after defeating Neymar and Falcao. He said, ”I’d like to thank everone who voted for me, its a great pleasure to stand here”. More than 5 million people voted for his goal.

Next was The Fifa Women’s player of the Year 2012. It was Abby Wambach who come on top. She said, ”Winning any individual award is the product of the team you are in, so this is for all my teammates”.

Finally, it was time for the final and the biggest award of the night, and it was once again Lionel Messi.

He said, “To tell you the the truth, it is really unbelievalble to win this award for the fourth consecutive time”.
