India dropped six spots to 154 in the FIFA Rankings according to the latest release, which came out on Thursday. India also dropped three places to 30th in the Asian Rankings.
The SAFF Championship 2013 runners-up share the 154th spot with three other nations – Liechtenstein, Puerto Rico and Malaysia.
India were in action in both the FIFA match dates of November at Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium. Wim Koevermans’ side held higher-ranked Philippines to a 1-1 draw and defeated neighbours Nepal 2-0. Those results saw India jump to 148 last month but they are now back at 154.
India remain the second highest nation in South Asia behind SAFF 2013 winners Afghanistan, who have dropped to 140 now. The next release of the FIFA Rankings is scheduled for January 16 but India won’t be in action until February at least.
