India dropped two spots to 156 in the FIFA Rankings according to the latest release, which came out on Thursday. India also dropped one place to 31st in the Asian Rankings.
The SAFF Championship 2013 runners-up share the 156th spot with two other nations – Europe’s Liechtenstein and North America’s Puerto Rico.
India were in action in both the FIFA match dates of November at Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium. Wim Koevermans’ side held higher-ranked Philippines to a 1-1 draw and defeated neighbours Nepal 2-0. Those results saw India jump to 148 in November but they dropped to 154 last month.
India remain the second highest nation in South Asia behind SAFF 2013 winners Afghanistan, who have moved up two places to 138 now. The next release of the FIFA Rankings is scheduled for February 13 but India won’t be in action until the next FIFA match date in March.
