The Independent reports that Fifa have now refused to approve Lionel Messi‘s goalscoring record due to the challenges from Brazil and Zambia.
First, the Zambian FA claimed that Kabwe Warriors striker Godfrey Chitalu had scored 107 goals in 1972. They said that they had evidence to support this claim and were currently compiling evidence.

Next came Brazilian club Flamengo, claiming that Brazilian legend Zico had scored 89 goals in 1979 during his time at the club.

As Barcelona have two more games remaining this year, with his current form the Argentinian can surely pass Zico, but the 107 scored by Godfrey Chitalu will probably end up being too much for Messi.
