The Salt Lake Stadium has an iconic place in Indian football. It is often termed as the Mecca for the football in the country and is one of the largest stadiums in the world. Until it's renovation in 2011, Salt Lake was the second largest stadium in the world. But for the U-17 World Cup, the capacity at Kolkata is increased from 68,000 to 85,000. It is also the home ground for ISL side, Amar Tomar Kolkata.
