The 7th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup will be held in 2020 in India between the 2nd and 21st of November, as 16 nations prepare to lock horns to reign supreme in the prestigious tournament. While France were also in the running to host the event, India were chosen as the host nation in a ceremony in 2019 and in doing so, qualified to the group stages of the tournament for the first time in their history.
Spain are the defending champions going into the 2020 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, having won the tournament in 2018 and 15 teams from six separate continental competitions (AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, UEFA) are set to contest in the biennial international youth football championship, aside from the host nation.
While 14 spots are expected to be filled by virtue of the playoffs in the coming weeks and months, the 4 host stadiums have been confirmed - Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar, Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati and the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad.
