FIFA Women's World Cup : Alex Morgan and USA train ahead of Spain last 16 clash
Under a scorching sun and temperatures rising towards 30 degrees, Team USA were back at practice on Sunday (23 June) in Reims, a day before their last 16 match against Spain.
Coach Jill Ellis and her players joked as they warmed up at Stade Louis Bleriot, about a 15 minute drive from Reims' Stade Auguste Delaune, where they will play for a place in the quarter finals of the World Cup.
Spain were due to train on the pitch next door a few hours later.
None of the women's football teams have been allowed to practice at their match venue since the beginning of this 2019 FIFA World Cup, an unusual decision for any competition, let alone a World Cup.
USA vs Spain kicks off at 18.00 local time on Monday.
