FIFA World Cup 2014: Did Joachim Loew pick his nose before shaking hands with Cristiano Ronaldo?

Cristiano Ronaldo was perhaps grieving in his heart as he walked past the touchline after that humiliating defeat at the hands of Germany. Joachim Low, was on the sidelines, picking his nose, before extending his hand to Ronaldo and rubbing it in on the Portuguese forward.

In this video, that was posted to Vine, you can watch the German coach dig for gold before layering it on the sweaty palm of Ronaldo. It was an apparently cruel gesture, concealed in the most gentlemanly manner, by a man who was perhaps wet with joy at the plight of Ronaldo.

If you are Portuguese and watching this, you must surely hope that the German hasn’t passed on an infection to your star. Ronaldo has his hands full dealing with his own recovery and a team in an apparent crisis, blighted by injury and incohesion.

This may have well been unintentional from Loew’s part. So far we haven’t heard from the German coach or from Ronaldo regarding the incident.
