Golden Boot or the Golden Shoe award is given to the player with most number of goals in a FIFA World Cup. The 2014 edition has already seen 154 goals so far and we might see the previous record of 171 goals broken sooner than later with 8 matches to go.
It is to be noted that if there’s more than one player with same number of goals, the winner is decided by the number of assists. If there’s still a tie, the award goes to the player who has played the least minutes in the tournament. In 2010, Thomas Muller was the winner of the prestigious award with 5 goals and 3 assists.
