Real Madrid have announced that they have been granted an injunction against FIFA’s santions that were imposed earlier by the Court of Arbitration for Sports. While Real Madrid have not adressed if the transfer ban has been lifted yet, the statement does state that the youth players affected by FIFA’s sanctions will be eligible to play for the club again.
Real Madrid made the following statement on their official website:
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has granted the precautionary measures that Real Madrid C. F. appealed for following the sanction issued by FIFA.Therefore, the minors affected by said sanction may now play for their respective clubs.
Zinedine Zidane’s children were among those affected by the sanctions imposed by FIFA, with the French manager earlier labelling it ‘unjust’, saying “It's absurd that they can't play. I don't understand it, it bothers me and the embargo is unjust.”
The ruling by the Court of Arbitration for sports now allows Zidane’s youngest two sons, Elyaz and Theo to play for Real Madrid’s youth sides, with Luca and Enzo Zidane already old enough to sign professional contracts with Los Blancos.
Curiously, Barcelona were not granted the same ruling when they were hit with a transfer ban for the same offense. Many youngsters were forced to leave the club, and the talented ones that remained were unable to play competitive fixtures for the duration of the ban.
Transfer ban set to remain
Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid were hit with a transfer ban by FIFA earlier this year, and had an appeal rejected, leading to both sides being unable to sign players for the next two windows. However, Barcelona side-stepped that ban by signing Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid and then not registering him with La Liga, with Real Madrid and Atletico likely to take adavantage of that loophole as well.

Zidane however, is not too concerned about the transfer ban affecting Real Madrid, saying “I don't think the ban will affect us because I'm very happy with the team that I have. I have a big roster. I'm happy with the players and they are happy with me. If we have to have the same team for two or three years, it's not a problem.”
