Italian club Fiorentina have confirmed the capture of striker Giuseppe Rossi from Villareal. The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Fiorentina is prepared to pay a $12.45 million transfer fee for the Italian.
Rossi, who has previously played for English giants Manchester United, has been out of footballing action since almost October 2011 because of an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament which first ruled him out for six months, before a recurrence of the same injury ruled him out for a further ten months in April 2012.
Rossi has been with Villareal since 2007 and scored 54 league goals in 134 appearances for the Yellow Submarines.
