Ronaldinho believes Firmino and Coutinho will lighten up English Premier League next season

Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has praised new Liverpool signing Roberto Firmino and feels he, along with Philippe Coutinho will form an exciting midfield partnership for the Reds next season.

Speaking to Liverpool Echo, Ronaldinho said, 'For Liverpool to have Coutinho and Firmino is a big achievement for them. It is going to give them one of the most exciting midfields in Europe.’

Liverpool completed the signing of Brazilian playmaker Roberto Firmino in a £29 million deal, subject to a medical and work permit. The 23-year-old will join the club next month as he is currently playing for Brazil at the Copa America.

One of Brazil’s most decorated players, Ronaldinho believes that Liverpool have made a signing of intent and they can now challenge for the European places next season.

He added, ‘The creativity, intelligence, and goals they have between them can change Liverpool as a team.

'It is a dream for the Liverpool strikers to have that sort of service. If you can't score goals in a team with Coutinho and Firmino in midfield then you won’t score goals in any team. They will create so many chances.'

Firmino’s signing means Liverpool could be willing to sell contract-rebel Raheem Sterling. Manchester City have already seen their bids rejected for the England international, who is valued by his club at £50m.
