The moment has finally arrived. Paul Labile Pogba is back with a kit that has the Manchester United crest on it. For the 1st time in the whole saga that stretched the fans’ patience, Pogba has eventually been pictured posing with the club laundry ladies in a Manchester United shirt.
The news of his arrival at Manchester for a medical has been going on for a long time now and now he’s been officially confirmed by the Red Devils in a world record transfer deal. The 23-year-old French midfielder will be another great signing for the Red Devils.
It is believed that a fee of around the region of €109 million has meant that Pogba will return to the club he left in 2012, under deplorable circumstances. His agent, Mino Raiola, will further pocket a hefty package from United management to get the deal materialized in their favour.
Manchester United had to part ways with the promising midfielder for a nominal fee, back in 2012, after he rejected a new deal under Sir Alex Ferguson. In an attempt to claim regular 1st team football the midfielder ended up having a strained relationship with the United boss. It is thought that his agent and family were quick to agree a deal with Serie A giant, Juventus, keeping the United hierarchy in the dark.
Sir Alex summed up the situation saying, "It is disappointing. I don't think he showed us any respect at all, to be honest. I'm quite happy that if they [footballers] carry on that way, they're probably better doing it away from us."
However, with Mourinho taking charge at Old Trafford this season, he made his intentions pretty clear regarding his desire to bring the most sought after midfielder back to the United set up.
It has been an intense month or so for both clubs, United and Juventus, as both parties negotiated hard to finalise a deal, that was always meant to be a world record fee. Meanwhile, the presence of Mino Raiola and his antics tested the United think-tank and frustrated them to no end.
The picture will ultimately bring smiles to millions of United fans around the world who have been lately growing impatient over the teeter-totter battle. With the Community Shield already won this weekend, Mourinho will be ecstatic to see the deal getting done and the fans overjoyed.
