Fitness concerns for Arsenal ahead of Sunderland clash

Ozil is the latest addition to the list of fitness worries for Arsenal

According to BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein, Per Mertesacker has fallen sick and will not travel with the Arsenal squad to Sunderland while his countryman Mesut Ozil, despite missing the training session due to illness, is expected to be a part of the Gunners’ away clash on 14th of September at the Stadium of Light.

Although Arsene Wenger gave an inkling about Thomas Vermaelen making the squad, it is expected that the Gunners’ boss will either play Bacary Sagna or Carl Jenkinson at right back.
