Shirt sponsorships are an integral part for any professional club, but some clubs have been the butt of many a joke, due to the same.
In this article, we take a look at five of the funniest shirt sponsors in football:
5. FC Nuremberg of Germany

4. Clydebank FC
The Scottish club bore the name of the pop band, Wet, on their shirt’s from 1993-97. The club was eventually disbanded in 2002.
3. Club America
Bimbo Bread were the first company to introduced sliced bread in Mexico, and have been sponsoring Club America since 1995. Though Club America have often ranked as the richest club in Mexico, they are definitely not the best thing in Mexico, since sliced bread.
2. St. Johnstone’s FC
The Scottish team bore the logo of the the local yarn weaver, during a team that saw them win the Scottish First Division and reached the semi’s of the Scottish Cup. The sponsor also provided a certain NFL club, the St. Louis Ram’s, with an artificial training pitch.
1. Denmark national team
The Danish national team was under contract with Dong Energy, Denmark’s largest energy supplier, until 2012. It did see the club drop from a top 20 ranking, to 38th, and then recover some ground to finish 26th. The image for this sponsor was rather hard to come by, even after a tedious 15-minute Google search.
