The Premier League returns this weekend, along with the usual Friday dilemma: should I change my Fantasy Football team? With players back from injury, selecting the right players is extremely important to ensure you keep up with the rest. If you are playing the official Premier League Fantasy game, remember you can play a wildcard this week, allowing you to change as many players as you want, for free.
Sergio Aguero
The Argentinean striker has been on fire this season, and he is likely to return to the starting line up against Cardiff at the weekend. Manchester City score for fun at the Etihad, and Aguero is always involved in the goals. He’s scored 13 goals in just 15 Premier League games, making him the second highest scorer in the Premier League, only behind Luis Suarez in the goal-scoring charts.
Tim Howard
Everton have conceded just 19 goals in the Premier League this season, which, along with Arsenal and Chelsea, is the least in the league. They often pick up clean sheets and very rarely concede many. They travel to West Brom at the weekend and face a side with little confidence and a team who have scored just 23 goals this season. Everton have just one loss in their last ten games and West Brom have just one win.
Bacary Sagna
Arsenal have a run of easier games coming up, with Fulham at home followed by a trip to Southampton and then they host Crystal Palace. With statistically the joint-best defence in the league and these fixtures, Sagna is likely to get some points for clean sheets and is not a very expensive option considering. As an experienced quality player, he is guaranteed to start Premier League games, unlike Kieran Gibbs or Nacho Monreal on the other side. With his crossing notably improved this season, he might notch up an assist or two as a bonus.
Luis Suarez
You’ve probably already got him in your team, but if you don’t, get him immediately. He’ll cost a lot, but he is worth it. With Liverpool home to Aston Villa this weekend, he’s almost guaranteed to score again. Suarez is currently playing at the same level of the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, if he continues; those two may have competition for the Ballon d’Or 2014. His reputation seemed to have held him back somewhat, but with no recent drama’s surrounding him, Suarez has let the football do the talking. He is this season’s Robin van Persie, and more, in terms of Fantasy Football.
Seamus Coleman
Coleman has completed a massive 40 take ons, the ninth-most of any Premier League player. He wins 65% of his tackles (37). Most importantly for fantasy purposes though, Coleman plays for a team, which have a very solid defence, conceding just 19 goals all season. Even more impressive is his five goals he’s managed from right back. Coleman costs a pricey £6.8m, but with 118 points, he is by far the highest-scoring defender in the Premier League this season.
