Portugal v Morocco: Group B - 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia
When we talk about Cristiano Ronaldo and records, it is hard not to have goals in the conversation. The Portuguese is a fantastic goalscorer at both club and country level, and has been making and smashing records at will in the entire span of his career. It is, therefore, quite fitting that he is Portugal's record goalscorer, with 85 goals from 154 appearances.

The Portuguese is second in the list of FIFA All time world top scorer, behind Iran's Ali Daei, who scored 109 goals from 149 appearances from 1993 to 2006. Among the current crop of players, Ronaldo has the most goals, followed by India's Suniel Chhetri, who has 67 goals from 107 games and Argentina's Lionel Messi, who has 65 goals from 128 appearances.
In his country, no one comes close to Ronaldo in the goalscoring charts. Pauleta is second with 47 goals from 88 appearances, while Eusebio is third with 41 goals from 64 appearances. Luis Figo has 32 goals from 127 appearances, while among the active players, only Nani makes up the top ten list. The former Manchester United winger has 24 goals from 112 games so far.
As such, this record too, might stand the test of time and Ronaldo could be remembered in history as the greatest goalscorer ever for Portugal.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
