The Euro 2000 was a very special tournament in my opinion, for we saw the best team in the history of France, and the best ever performance of Zinedine Zidane, France’s most favourite son. England, despite facing a big upset and exiting in the first round, contained wonderful players in their peaks such as Beckham, Owen, Shearer, Seaman and Mcmanaman.
In this edition of Flashback Friday, we present this clip dating to September 2000. This means this friendly took place just after France won the Euro that year. The first goal was a wonderful pass, typical of Zizou. The second goal of the match was a skillful touch from Owen, courtesy a glorious pass from the pass-master Beckham. Enjoy!
