5 late signings you should take in your Fantasy Premier League team

Anthony Martial
Anthony Martial is valued at 8 million

It can leave you the bottom of the office or the talk of the pub.Fantasy football is the number 1 way to prove you know more than your friends. Or in some peoples cases the best way to prove you maybe arent capable of being a real manager. But with the transfer window constanly introducing new names into the English Premier League there is always the opportunity of a bargain to be had in your fantasy football team if you can get in before they hit form, so with all that mindhere are 5 late additions that you can consider taking before your rivals realise how good they are.

#5 Anthony Martial - Manchester United

Anthony Martial
Anthony Martial is valued at 8 million

Martial was bought very late on for quite a considerable amount of money. But with the lack of striking options after getting rid of Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez, and Rooney’s injury at the moment, he is going to be a prominent player for United for at least the next couple of weeks.

He is already off the mark with a fabulous solo goal that helped secured the three points against Liverpool, so his confidence right now will be sky high. And he has proven he can do it in big games. His pace and movement can and will hurt teams this season if he links up with players such as Memphis Depay, who can stretch and move defenders for him to create space.

United’s next three games are against Southampton, Sunderland and Arsenal. The first two will be a lot easier than the third against Arsenal, but for me the game against Sunderland could be a game he shines in. Sunderland are all over the place at the back and his explosive pace could see him net a couple of goals.

He is currently valued at 8 million. That is less than players like Harry Kane and Diego Costa who both just can’t seem to find the net at this moment in time. So if you are quick, you can catch up on anyone who has them.

#4 Matt Jarvis - Norwich City

Matt Jarvis
Matt Jarvis costs only 4.9 million

Don’t dismiss this one instantly. He may not quite in the same calibre as the rest coming up on this list but Matt Jarvis already has his goal scoring boots on for Norwich and could easily find the net again in his next couple of games.

Norwich play Liverpool, West Ham and Leicester City - a fairly challenging run of games for Norwich as a whole but not exactly the strongest defences in the league. After which he then has games against Newcastle and West Brom, which is why I would back Matt Jarvis to pick up a goal or two and maybe even a couple of assists during this run of games.

The part that makes the idea of picking up Jarvis appealing is the fact he’s so cheap! For a measly 4.9 million, you could then afford to invest in other areas or more exotic players that you otherwise maybe couldn’t afford.

#3 Victor Ibarbo - Watford

Victor Ibarbo
Victor Ibarbo is valued at 5.5 million

A player with great potential who, for a while, had a growing reputation in Italy until a loan move to Roma didn’t play out as expected. But now having joined Watford on loan from Cagliari, he could resurrect his career and return to the form that made Roma want to sign him. Ibarbo

is blessed with great pace and we all know that this can hurt teams at the back in the Premier League. His next three matches are against Newcastle, Palace, and Bournemouth. Newcastle at the moment are in horrible form and if you throw in a pacey player like Ibarbo with a point to prove he could cause all sorts of problems. Palace may be a bit more difficult but Bournemouth is definitely a game he could shine in too.

At 5.5 million he is a fairly average price and is definitely affordable and could yield a high return if he gets off a to a flier.

#2 Nathan Dyer - Leicester City

Nathan Dyer
Nathan Dyer is valued at 4.8 million

Nathan Dyer, like Matt Jarvis, may not sound exactly glamorous to add to your squad but he is in a situation now where he can start playing games and show the early form he had when Swansea were first promoted to the Premier League.

He’s a fairly small player, but with his explosive pace he can get around players easily on his day. He has already started off well with a goal against Aston Villa last weekend.

His next three games are Stoke, Arsenal and Norwich. He may not get much against Arsenal, but the other two games are definitely fixtures he can shine in if given the opportunity. And at 4.8 million, he would also save you a little bit of money if you chose to take out some of the high valued players in your squad who just aren’t cutting it at the moment.

#1 Kevin De Bruyne - Manchester City

Kevin De Bruyne FPL
Kevin De Bruyne is valued at 10 million

He may have struggled to settle at Chelsea but two years can do a lot to a young player and Kevin De Bruyne has matured and improved as a footballer during his time at Wolfsburg. He does have competition for places with David Silva, Samir Nasri and Raheem Sterling all wanting a place in that attacking trio behind the striker. But I fully expect De Bruyne to cement his place in the City squad very quickly. And when you look at the games coming up there’s a great chance he could hit form early.

City play West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle in the next three game weeks. The last two in that list have had fairly poor starts and could be put to the sword by City and what better way to get De Bruyne firing than playing against a team that is leaking goals in Newcastle. The games against West Ham and Spurs may be a bit more difficult, but City have a great record against Spurs and West Ham have been up and down so far this season.

He may have cost Manchester City a fair wedge in transfer fees but he will cost you a little bit less in your team. Valued at 10 million, he is a cheaper option compared to Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard and Silva.
