Recording 96mph, it proved crucial for Monaco as they went through on away goals.
#3 David Beckham - 97.9mph

Its difficult to keep David Beckham out of any list for shooting distinctions.
But unfortunately there seems to be no video evidence of this strike. Although the record books statethat a Beckhameffort for Manchester Unitedagainst Chelsea on 27th February 1997 reached97.9 mph.
#2 David Hirst - 114 mph
The rocket of a shotcame on September 16, 1996 during a match between Sheffield Wednesday and Arsenal.Hirststhunderbolt, which cannoned back off the bar, was recorded at a speed of114 mph.
The three-time England international, was an exciting but injury prone striker who played for Sheffield Wednesdayfor much of his career.
