Gerard Pique and Iker Casillas have made plans to watch the finals of the Champions League this summer. On Twitter. Unrealistically. Barcelona star, Pique, tweeted to Casillas asking him for his predictions of the Champions League final to which Casillas replied by inviting the former Manchester United man home to watch the finals with some drinks and crisps.
Pique – who won the Champions League final last year with Barcelona – is widely expected to defend the title which would be the first time ever in the history of the competition. Casillas, meanwhile, was shipped out to Porto last summer due to enormous unnecessary pressure at the Bernabeu.
Even though they played for rival teams, the two of them, Pique and Casillas, both continue to represent Spain and are rumoured to be called up for UEFA Euro '16. Casillas has started almost all of Porto's games in the Portuguese league with Pique a main stay at Barcelona's back line.
Here's the conversation that unfolded on Twitter:
Pique: "Any predictions for the Champions League final, Iker?"
Casillas: "Why don't we watch it together at the RFEF with some crisps and drinks?"
Pique finally responds: "Well, if you are going to pay for it, it'll be an even bigger feat than winning the Champions League!"
