Former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has arrived at the Italian capital city on Monday to finalise his deal with AS Roma, the club has confirmed through its twitter account.
Roma has offered 33-year-old Cole a two-year contract which will see him earn £1.98 million per year, much higher than the wage offered by his former club when i was out of contract.

Cole, a free agent, had previously attracted a lot of interest from clubs like Liverpool, Tottenham and Milan. His agent, Jonathan Barnett, confirmed, “At the moment it is only clubs based abroad - there may be other developments, but for the moment, that is all we are talking. The situation is that we are talking to several clubs.”
A former England international, Cole had spent eight years with the Blues and is regarded as one of the club’s biggest players, helping them win one Premier League title, four FA Cups, one Europa League and Champions League title apiece.
The former England international is a free agent after leaving Chelsea and has had interest from Monaco and various Major League Soccer franchises.
