Port Vale goal keeper, Stuart Tomlinson has decided to hang up his boots in order to join wrestling.

The 28-year-old is a former body builder. He retired from professional football in July due to a knee ligament injury. Tomlinson has been given a ticket to try his hand at wrestling with the American franchise WWE.

He had played 81 games for Port Vale before leaving in 2012 to join League Two side Burton Albion.

He revealed the news on Twitter saying: ‘Looking forward to a new job (with the) WWE. Swapping two posts and a net, with four posts and ropes – USA bound!’
