Lampard and Luiz at war. Smoke grenade’s going off in dressing rooms. Manchester City’s squad is “better than ours”. These are the signs of a manager who has failed to manage the bloated ego’s of England’s wanna-be best club. Outspoken players, off-form stars, rumours of an unhappy dressing room. Roman must be ruefully regretting the day he let Mourinho go, or Carlo Ancelotti for that matter.
However, for all the hoo-ha around Andre Villas-Boas being on the bring of extinction, Chelsea, the team, is on the wane. Their players have lacked speed and flair since around the second month of the EPL in the Ancelotti era. No youth players have even got a chance. Since Kakuta and MacEachran were given opportunities in the early statges of last season’s Champions League, they have not featured for again in Chelsea blue.Courtois, Bruma, Lukaku. Where are they know? Off on loan and m.i.a. You’d be optimistic to think De Bruyne will get a match in the next two seasons.
If Villas-Boas wanted to prove himself as the world’s next best manager, he has the best blank canvas in world football to work with. The ‘project’s’ blueprint should be to turn Chelsea’s aged and slow performers into hungry young lions and what better club to do it at then Chelsea, who with a history of success in the premier league have an owner who has rarely passed up spending money on players and already have young promising players who are at the club. Its like a real-life version of Championship Manager, and your benefactor is one helleva rich guy.
So instead of giving a full match report for the loss against West Brom, which was a total disaster from defence to attack, I’m going to allow our manager four days to get things right, leading to the team selection and formation against Birmingham in the FA Cup. Failing to inspire us and the players, then it’s open season. We won’t hold back Andre.
Our suggestions? I’m glad you asked Sir:
Play a 4-1-3-2 (below) or a 3-5-2 with Luiz on the bench for Kalou in the middle.
GK: Cech
RB: Luiz
CB: Cahill (what would of happened had he not joined? Ivo would of played CB but who would have played RB with Bossie out?)
CB: Ivanovic
LB: Bertrand (Cole had arguably his worst performance in a Chelsea shirt and he wants to go to Barca, ha! Let him go on the West Brom performance)
DM: Romeu
Midfield: Lampard, Meireles, Mata
Strikers: Sturridge, Torres
Bench: Hutchinson, Lukaku, Ramires, Turnbull, Cole, Drogba, Kalou
So you’ve got till Tuesday night AVB. Another performance like this and we will rip into you, we will come after you with everything we’ve got. However, do bear this mind.
Most of us hope the headlines of Wednesday morning reads “Andre Vilified-Boas” rather than “Andre-Vs-Benitez”.
