Frank Lampard , who is no more a part of the plans at Stamford Bridge at the end of season, has signed a deal with a publisher to write children’s book on Tuesday. He is writing a series which is called Frankie’s Magic Football. Lampard also said that some of the characters of the series are his team mates.
Lampard’s series- Frankie’s Magic Football is basically about the adventures a school boy Frankie, his football-loving friends, and pet dog Max.
Lampard was reported as telling The Independent, “I first had the idea of Frankie and his Magic Football when reading stories to my own children. Sport and reading are two essentials for us at home, so I decided to make up my own football stories and adventures. The characters are loosely based on friends and team mates I’ve played with over the years. I am delighted that Little Brown liked the stories as much as my children and will be publishing the Frankie’s Magic Football series.”
The first book – Frankie Versus The Pirate Pillagers – will be published in June followed by 2 other books that will be published later in the year. Neil Blair and Zoe King are in charge of the publishing deal. They also described the book as “full of loveable characters on wacky adventures and destined for “great things”.
Frank Lampard is not the first such footballer who has written books. Arsenal star Theo Walcott also wrote a series of children’s books.
