For the second January in a row, the possibility of Frank Lampard heading to Old Trafford has raised its head.
Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins has urged Manchester United to snap up Lampard in the January transfer window.
Wilkins said: “He’ll cost nothing, he’s about four years younger than Giggs and Scholes and he scores goals from midfield. He’s scored more goals this year than Carrick, Cleverley and Scholes combined”.
Both United and rivals Manchester City will monitor Lampard’s situation at Chelsea in the coming weeks with the 34-year-old having been told he will not be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard scored two goals for Chelsea at the end of the December in a 2-1 win at Everton, proving he still has plenty to offer in the Premier League.
